In the name of God Amen—I Archibald Edmondson of Clarke County and state of Kentucky being in weak and low state of health but in perfect mind and memory and knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time it may happen do make and sign this my last Will and Testament in the following. I will give my soul to God who gave it. My body to be buried in a plain manner at the discretion of my Executor. All debts of every kind to be paid. All this out of my personal estate.
Item I. I give to my beloved wife Linday Edmonston all my singular and my personal estate that may remain after paying all my debts above and directed likewise my negroe name Jim…
Item 2. To my son James Edmonston 517 acres known by the name of Yarrows near the federal City agreeable to be divided with his brother Thomas, land that was in the Will of James Edmonston being the date 4 Sept 1777 ... They to take one half of 517 acres and the other half to daughters Patsey, Polly, Suckee, Marjory and Debby.
I ordain and constitute and appoint my loving wife Lindy Edmonston and my faithful friend Aron Lacklen the Executor.
This the 3 day of Sept 1800.

The last will and testament of Archibald Edmonson deceased was produced in court by the oaths of William McMillan and Azariah Prather witnesses thereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded on the motion of Aaron Lacklin and Linda Edmonson the Executors therein named who made oath thereto as law directs. Certificate is granted them for obtaining probate thereof in due form giving security there upon they together with Thomas Eubank their security entered into and acknowledged their bond in penalty of $500 Conditioned as the law directs…….
