[Note: see discussion on brother 's page about this date. As recorded it is only 6 months after his brother's birth. While his brother's age at death suggests the brother's birthdate is wrong, there seems to be so few records of Appleton discovered, the reasonable of this date for him cannot really be assessed. Allred reports it as 1815 without giving any indication that isn't what the record says, and since she doesn't seem to have investigated either brother beyond their birth, it is not apparent that this is anything more than a guess.]
