Anthony Simms, son of Anthony and his wife, was born at "St. George's" in Charles County, a portion of which he received by the will of his father in 1709. He married Sarah Maddox after the death of her father, Notley Maddox, of St. Mary's County in 1716, who named her in his will. As Sarah Simms, she shared in the will of her mother, Margreter Maddox, of St. Mary's County, in 1739 and that of her unmarried brother, Samuel Maddox, in the same year.

He established his seat in St. Mary's County, the native county of his wife, and there on December 9, 1736, he deeded to his brother, Marmaduke Simms, of Charles County, for 6,000 lbs. tob. 100 acres of "St. George's" which had been willed him by his father. On July 1, 1738, he bought of his brothers and sister Bathia Simms "Semms' Forrest" in Cecil County, which on August 7, following he sold to George Forbes, of St. Mary's County, Merchant, for £60 plus 5,000 lbs. tob. Sarah Simms, his wife, waived all dower rights.
His last will and testament, written on October 14, 1749, was proved in St. Mary's County, on February 20, 1749/50.
To daughter Jane Baxter all land called "Batchelor's Comfort" during life, then to my grandchildren John and Ann Simms Baxter, and negroes
To son Anthony Simms 5 shillings
To Mary Horsey a suit of mourning and mourning ring.
All moveable estate to grandchildren - John Baxter, Ann Simms Baxter, Anthony Baxter, Elenor Baxter at the age of 16 or 20.
