Anson L. Hodges was the tenth child born to William and Emily (Eastridge) Hodges, Sr. His siblings were: Edmund, John Jr., Allen, Barbara, Micajah, Rollen B., William J. Jr., Robert M., Anne, and Howell A. Hodges.
He married Mary Amanda Dyer on 6 May 1830. She either dies or they went their separate ways for a year later, he married Harriet Gray, daughter of James Gray, on 19 May 1831 in Washington Co., TN.
Anson and Harriet were the parents of five known children:
1). James G., b. ca 1832, married Louisa Chase
2). Mary Emily, b. ca 1833, married William King, Jr.
3). Elizabeth Hodges, b. ca 1839 married George Washington Millhorn
4). Lear/Leah, b. ca 1840, married Benjamin L. Sell
5). Lucinda, b. ca 1843, married Ebenezer Hall
Anson died as a result of a hunting accident.
