MRS. ANNIE McALPIN.

The death occurred suddenly on Saturday of Mrs. Annie McAlpin, of Bootoowa at the age of 53 years. Born at Kimbriki, she was a daughter of the late Mr. Joseph Weekes and of Mrs. Weekes, of Tinonee. The latter is 87 years of age. With her husband, Mr. Andrew McAlpin, deceased had lived at Bootoowa five years and prior to that at Taree Estate. In addition to her husband, she is survived by Trevor and Bexley Hammond and Miss Merle Hammond (Tinonee), children by a former marriage and three stepchildren — Mr. Murray McAlpin, Misses Betty and Belle McAlpin, Brothers are Messrs. Frederick and Joseph Weekes (Queensland), Edward (Nambucca Heads), George (Taree), Sydney (Kimbriki), Stanley (Bootoowa). One brother, Harry (Wingham) is deceased. Sisters are Mrs. Les Cleaver (Kundibakh), Mrs. Jack Godwin (Auburn), Mrs. Les Smith (Mitchell's Island). Three sisters are deceased, viz., Mrs. Arthur Brown (The Bight), Mrs. Arthur Sambrook (Bowraville) and another died at the age of five years. The late Mrs. McAlpin was a staunch Methodist and Rev. W. T. Cross used to hold mid-week services at her home at Bootoowa, which were appreciated. She was esteemed and respected by all who knew her, and was devoted to her home and family. A service was held at Tinonee Methodist Church on Sunday by Rev. A. E. Frede and afterwards at Tinouee cemetery and was very largely attended.
