Mrs. John Gallagher

The death of Mrs. Gallagher, of Orillia, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mulhern, of Brechin, came as a shock to her many friends and relatives on Saturday, February 11, in her sixty-seventh year, at her home in Orillia. Before her marriage to Mr. Gallagher, she was Mrs. Aaron Drake and resided for many years on her farm in Mara. She leaves to mourn her loss, beside her husband, four daughters, Mrs. John Lambe, (sic)Spokane, Washington; Mrs. John Clitheroe, Uptergrove, Mrs. Arthur Donnelly and Mrs. Jerry Maloney, both of Brechin; five sisters and five brothers, Mrs. John Johnston, Toronto; Mrs. D.A. McPherson, Woodville; Mrs. James Holman, Vancouver; Mrs. Henry Walloston, Spokane, Washington; Mrs. Louis McRae, Winnipeg; John, Edward, Michael and Finbar in Vancouver, B.C., and Martin, of Brechin. Her first husband predeceased her twelve years ago, her elder son, John Edward, twenty-two years ago, and her younger son Philip, eight years ago. The funeral was held on Tuesday, February 14, from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Donnelly, to St. Columbkille’s Church, Uptergrove, where requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Coleman. Interment was made in St. Columbkille’s Cemetery, Uptergrove, the pallbearers being Messrs. John Mugan, William Kelly, James Barbour, Martin Brennan, Jos. Kennedy, and Jos. Tyrrell. Many beautiful flowers and spiritual bouquets were received by the bereaved family from sympathising friends.
