THE LATE MRS. DUNN
Mr. John Dunn, jun., sends us the following notice of his late Mother's colonial career, of which, however, may rather be taken as the history of a family early settled and now firmly rooted in South Australia: -
... During the past 13 years, Mrs. Dunn lived a very retired life in her last new residence beautifully situated a little way from the original stone house. The chief reason for her almost entire exclusiveness from society for some years past was caused by a fall which she had about nine years ago, and which made her a helpless cripple to the end of her days. In addition to this she lost her youngest daughter (a fine girl of 18), over whose death she never ceased to grieve. ... She finally passed away on Nov. 24, 1870, in the 68th year of her age. ...
