Advisory

Anne Laird has been mis-identified by some researchers as a daughter of David Laird (1743-1800) of Augusta County, Virginia. This is in error. Anne's husband William Alexander is mentioned in her father David Laird's will, as follows:
To my son-in-law William Alexander, seven shilling.
