    Anne Eppes Gibbons was born in Albemarle Parish, Sussex County, Virginia on Sept. 15, 1743, and died in Hawkins County on Dec. 17, 1810 at her home in Rogersville, TN. She was the daughter of Edward Eppes of Sussex (Surrey) County, Virginia and his wife Mary Anderson.

    Edward Eppes, son of Daniel Eppes, son of Lt. Col. John Eppes, son of Lt. Col. Francis Eppes, First in America.

    Mary Anderson was a direct descendant of the Jordan family, related to George Jordan, Attorney General of Virginia for King George III.

    Anne married Thomas Gibbons III ca 1762; they had 11 children:
