1861 Census shows Ann Gray in Pierowall with mother Elizabeth Harcus, a widow. Ann's husband is age 43 and listed as a Seaman/Pensioner.


1871 Widow age 64 formerly dairy maid living in Pierowall.


In 1881 Census she is listed as Ann Burgher, head, widow age 73, Pauper, at private house with Jannet Potinger visitor unm age 73 also pauper. Both born Westray (same pair together in 1881).


Nearby is Archibald Logie, age 41, House Carpenter Master born Westray, wife Jean H. Logie age 27 and 7 children, some named Bews. from 1851 census Archibald Logie was the son of Thomas Logie and Mary Gray living in Skeal.


Death Certificate 26 Nov 1885 in Pierowall, lists father Robert Burgher, master cooper and mother Betsy Harcus. Widow of Archibald Gray, master tailor, notified by Archibald Logie, nephew-in-law.
