Obituary - MANHATTAN MORNING CHRONICLE, Saturday, April 1, 1933 Funeral for Mrs. M. C. Gilbert To Be Monday Death Caused by Cancer After Illness of one year - Resident Here Many Years Funeral services for Mrs. M. C. Gilbert, 67, who died Friday morning will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Baptist Church, with Rev. C. A. Nissen in charge and interment in Sunset Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Ryan Chapel until time for the funeral. Mrs. Gilbert died about 7:5 o'clock at her home, 1700 Humboldt, after an illness of a year or more. Cancer was the cause of death. She had resided here since 1889, except for ten years residence in Topeka. Survivors in addition to the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Davis of Stafford; Mrs. Mary Starkey of Syracuse; three sons, E. E. Gilbert of Chicago, Charles R. Gilbert of Oakland, California and H. W. of Auburn, Indiana; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Peterson of McClave, Colorado, and Mrs. Tilda Linden of Silver Hill, Alabama; Three brother Nels and Sven Olson of Topeka and Otto Olson of Sweden and seven grandchildren.
