Annie Elizabeth Pollock McIntyre Born: 13 Feb 1863, Jo Daviess County, Illinois Died: 12 Nov 1925

The following is Annie E McIntyre Pollock's obituary:

Annie Elizabeth McIntyre was born Feb. 13 1863 in Jo Daviess Dounty, Illinois. She was the oldest child of Hugh and Harriett Millard McIntyre. The family moved to Jones County, Iowa and later to Missouri. For a short while she attended Amity College - at that time called the "Academy" - and on March 22, 1882 she was married to R. John Pollock at Rockport, Missouri.

They lived near the North Star Church in Atchison County and there Mae and Charles were born in 1882 and 1884. Early in 1885 her husband went to Cheyenne County, Kansas where he took a 160 acre homestead and tree claim and there she joined him with the two little ones. They lived in Kansas nine years and during that time, Fred, Lulu and Olive were born.

Because of a drought they left Kansas and in 1894 settled in Iowa near Clarinda. While there they lived for two years with John's father after the death of his mother. During that period they built a house in Harlan Twp. near the R.P. Church where they lived until 1908 when they purchased a home in College Springs. The kept the home there during the remainder of Annie's life that they might have good schools for the three younger children, two sons having been born to them while living in Harlan Twp.

On June 2, 1914 the first death in the family came with Wilbur's accidental drowning in Crystal Lake.

Annie was active in her home and church and being of a lovable disposition and kindly nature she made many friends. She was stricken suddenly on Nov. 12, 1925 and passed away that evening of cerebral hemmorrage, at the age of 62.

MRS. CARROL NELSON'S MOTHER DIED Mrs. Carrol Nelson of this city received word last Thursday evening of the sudden death of her mother, Mrs. R.J. Pollock, at her home in College Springs, and Friday morning she and her son Robert went over to College Springs. The following account was taken from the Clarinda Herald of last Monday:

The funeral was held Saturday afternoon in College Springs of Mrs. R.J. Pollock who passed away Thursday evening at her home in northwest College Springs the result of a stroke which came on her gradually. Complaining to her daughter that she was feeling queer, the doctor was called but before he could arrive Mrs. Pollock was unable to speak coherently and afterward passed away. The funeral services were at the United Presbyterian Church in College Springs, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W.E. Minteer with interment in the beautiful cemetery adjoining the town. Mrs. Pollock formerly lived in the Covenanter settlement southwest of Clarinda, and is known to many people in the county. Three daughters are living Mrs. John Dale, Mrs. Ralph Stoops, and Mrs. Nelson of Bedford and three stalwart sons, Charles and Frank Pollock in College Springs and Fred Pollock of Blanchard. The husband also survives and has the sympathy of his many friends.
