Tulsa World (OK) - March 8, 2007 Deceased Name: TULLIS -- Anna Lou TULLIS -- Anna Lou, 87, died peacefully at home in Maryland, on Monday, March 5, 2007, after a long illness. She was the fourth of seven children, born to Leo and Nina (Smith) McGivern on January 3, 1920 in Whitesboro, OK. As a young woman, Mrs. Tullis was an accomplished basketball player and dancer. She attended Oklahoma A&M (now OSU). On March 17, 1940, Anna married John W. Tullis, they had 2 daughters, Carol and Rebecca. Mrs. Tullis was a tutor for Oklahoma Public Schools, active with Girl Scouts, member of the Tulsa and Oaks Country Clubs, and was an expert bridge player for 60 years. Mrs. Tullis moved to Chevy Chase, MD, in January, 2000 to live near her daughter, Rebecca. She was preceded in death by: beloved husband, John, in 1992; and daughter, Carol, in 1996. Survivors include daughter, Rebecca and husband, Gary Stevens; sisters, Marguerite Spillman and Kathryne Schroeder; brother, Richard McGivern; grandson, Jonathan M. and wife, Jessica Stevens; along with many nieces and nephews.
