Mrs. Buysman, 60, Dies in Pipestone after Long Illness

Mrs. Henry Buysman, for over 20 years a resident of the Chandler and Lake Wilson communities, died at a Pipestone hospital last Saturday morning, April 10, at the age of 60. Mrs. Buysman had been in poor health for several months.

Anna Hoekstra was born in the Netherlands January 3, 1883. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of four years, and settled in Sioux County, Iowa. Later they moved to Sheldon County.

When a young woman, she accepted the Christian faith and remained faithful to her Lord and Savior to the end. At the time of her death she was a member of the Reformed Church of Chandler.

She was united in marriage to Henry J Buysman on September 18, 1912, at Sheldon, Iowa. To this union four children were born. They moved to Minnesota in March, 1920, and lived in the Chandler vicinity until 1938, when they moved to a farm near Lake Wilson, where they have since lived.

Mrs. Buysman had been in poor health the past few months and she spent several weeks in bed. She passed away at the Pipestone hospital Saturday afternoon, April 10, at the age of 60 years, three months, and seven days.

She leaves to mourn her departure besides her husband, four children, Jeanette (Mrs. John Hofkamp) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Martha (Mrs. Frank Stevens) of Chandler, Minnesota; Mildred (Mrs. Arthur Achterhof) of Edgerton, Minnesota; and Andrew, at home; two brothers and one sister: C.S. Hoekstra, Wood River, Nebraksa; John Hoekstra, Omaha; and Mrs. Fred Wesselink of Hospers, Iowa and five grandchildren.
