From research done by the late Reynold REEP, his research showed that there were at least 6 sons and 1 daughter born to this union. Two of their sons are known in America. The eldest is Johann Friedrich PONTIUS [1718-1792] ahis younger brother, our ancestor, Johann Nicholas PONTIUS [1728-1794]. Reynold REEP lived in Europe for many years while serving for the US military and traveled to the villages and the area of the PONTIUS family sites. He later retired to Honolulu, Hawaii where he passed away. A great loss to our REEP-PONTIUS family research. The village of Berglangenbach is close to the French-German border. The name has mutated over time to HAUGH - however, German records show name to be spelt HAUCK [pronounced - How-k - think thick European accent with a head cold and give the pronounciation another try...:>)].
