    Cecil Terry, 97, died Sept. 8, 1997, at Hutchinson Hospital.

    She was born Sept. 2, 1900, at Chillicother, Mo., the daughter of Arvin C. Dowell and Ida I. Brassfield. She attended Hutchinson schools. A Hutchinson resident most of her life, she was a retired salesperson for Alaska Fur and owned Cecil's Furniture.

    Cecil Dowell married Leroy Terry. They later divorced. Leroy died in the 1960's.

    Survivors include: a son, Charles A., Hutchinson; a brother, Howard Dowell, Hutchinson; a grandchild; and seven great-grandchildren.
    Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Terry E. Deal presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, and the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today, all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
