Ann Puddephatt was baptised on 16th September 1706 at Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, daughter of Mary Puddephatt, formerly Smith, and her husband Jeremiah Puddephatt, a farmer. The family lived at Wood Farm, to the north of the town. Sadly young Ann died when she was only one year old, being buried at Hemel Hempstead on 14th January 1708.
