    Ann "Nancy" Glasgow was the daughter of Arthur & Rebekah Anderson (McNutt) McCorkle Glasgow. Nancy was born in Rockbridge Co., Va. She married 4 Mar 1805, in Rockbridge Co., Va. to her first cousin(their fathers being brothers)Joseph Glasgow. Joseph was born 25 Nov 1780, in Rockbridge Co., Va. In 1806, they left Virginia & traveled by covered wagon to Ohio. After 6 weeks they reached Scott Twp., Adams Co., Ohio. & settled on an adjoining farm to his father, Robert Glasgow. (Today's Watt-Young road, close to Tranquility) they built a log cabin in which to live.

    Shortly, after fighting erupted with Great Britain which ushered in the War of 1812. Joseph enlisted for active duty in Capt. Edmund Wade's Company. Following his discharge, he returned home broken in health. In Joseph's last illness he was treated by an old Indian doctor. Joseph died in 1820, at the age of 40. Joseph's estate was administered by his 2 brothers, Wm & John Glasgow. Joseph & Nancy had 8 children: Rebecca Jane Glasgow, B. Dec 1805, M. Thomas Ralston, D. 1857, 8 children; Rosanna "Rosa" Nancy Glasgow, B. 1 Oct 1807, M. first, Robert Charlton Ralston, D. 5 Jan 1892, 7 children; Arthur Glasgow, B. 1809, M. Elizabeth McCullough, D. June 1852, coming home from Cal. gold rush, buried at sea, 9 children; Mary "Polly" Finley Glasgow, B. 22 May 1811, M. John Williams, D. 16 Feb 1900, 10 children; Robert Anderson Glasgow, B. 19 Sep 1813, M. first, Dorcas Finley, second Jane Smiley, third, Mary Steele, D. 18 Dec 1887, 14 children; William Barclay Glasgow, B. 16 Apr 1816, M. first, Marion H. McIntyre, second, Grizzel Milligan, D. 1907, 6 children; Margaret H. Glasgow, B. 10 Jul 1819, M. Robert Patterson McClure, D. 1899, 7 children.

    Nancy Glasgow married again on 7 Apr 1825, to Robert Campbell. Robert & his brothers ran a mill on Buck Run (today's SR 247 in the S curve of the road where Buck Run Rd and SR 247 join) Buck Run was named for their home back in Rockbridge County, Va. Robert was born in 1791, and died in 1855. They built a brick home which still stands today on the Armstong farm near Watt-Young Rd. They had 4 children: Nancy Jane Campbell, B. 1826, M. Robert Finley Glasgow, D. ?, 7 children; Washington Glasgow Campbell, B. 1828, D. 1841; Elizabeth "Eliza" Ann Campbell, B. 13 Jun 1831, M. Wm Porter Breckenridge, D. 28 Aug 1908, 8 children; Robert Campbell, B. 1833, D. 1834.

    Robert died in 1855. In 1860, Nancy, age 72, was living alone. In 1870, Nancy, age 82, is living with her daughter Eliza Breckenridge and her family on the old homestead. Nancy was cared for in her old age by her granddaughter, Arminta (Breckenridge) McClure. Robert & Nancy are buried in the Campbell family plot.

    Nancy made a journey back to Rockbridge Co., Va (circa 1814) on horseback with her young son, Robert Anderson, to see her parents. She must have been daring & brave woman to make such a trip.

    Nancy had 8 siblings: Joseph Glasgow, John Glasgow, Robert Glasgow,Rebekah Glasgow Carr, Margaret "Peggy" Glasgow Edmondson, Mary "Polly" Glasgow (never married). Half brothers & sisters by her mother's first marriage to John McCorkle (killed at the Battle of Cowpens): Wm McCorkle, Alexander McCorkle, John McCorkle, Samuel McCorkle, & Katherine McCorkle Walker
