Ann/Anna was born at Germantown, 5mo/Jul 4/1684, allegedly the first child born to the Krefeld emigrants in America.

"Anneke (Low Dutch - anglicized to Anna) was the daughter of Tönes Conradts (patronymically a corruption of given name of his father Coendert Lensen). Upon arrival in the colonies, his name was phonetically anglicized to Denis Cunnard/Cunradt/Kunders. Her mother was Leentje Matteisen, anglicized to Helen or Helene Tyson. Leentje had a patronymics of "Matteisen" and "Teisen" which indicates her father was Matteis Peterschen Dohrs, anglicized to Matteis Teisen/Tyson. It has been said by many that her mother was Agnees/Nees opden Graef, but this fact has been disputed by others.

Anna's parents were married at the Krefeld Reformed Church on 31 May 1677; "Tönes Kunders of Gladbach and Leentjie Matteisen (spinster) of Kaldenkirchen".
