Ann Burton was baptised on 25th July 1737 at Heckington in Lincolnshire, daughter of Mary Burton, formerly Robinson, and her husband Thomas Burton, a labourer. Ann's parents had married just under a year earlier at Heckington.

On 28th January 1763, aged 25, Ann married Edward Gray at Heckington. The following year they had a son called John baptised there. John's baptism record describes Edward as a labourer. No evidence has been found to suggest that they had any other children.

Edward died in 1801, aged 62. Ann survived him but just under two years. She died aged about 66 years old and was buried at Heckington on 5th April 1803.

Anno 1737 / Ann Daughter of Thomas Burton Lab[oure]r & Mary his wife bap[tize]d July 25th

Whilst no named connection has been found, this baptism has been linked to the Ann Burton who married Edward Gray in 1763 on the basis that it is in the same parish in which she married and lived as an adult and at around the time implied by the age given when she died. No evidence has been found to suggest that the Ann baptised in 1737 died young or married anyone else.
