Ann Bolling Buchanan (5feb1774, Auchentoshan House-1810, Auchentoshan) was daughter of Anne Murray (1746-1777) and Neil Buchanan (1737-77) of Auchentoshan. Ann Murray was descended from Pocohontas (information, K. Bryant Smith). The Buchanan family represented here are part of Glasgow history including Andrew (1725), after whom Buchanan St is named, and also Andrew (1691) mayor of Glasgow in 1740 & 1742. According to research by Michigan University the Buchanan Family were the leading tobacco plantation owners in America before the Revolution. Robert Bolling (1646) married Jane Rolfe (1655) only grandchild of Pocahontas and descended from his 2nd marriage to Anne Stith are George H Bush & George W Bush.

It is interesting that later the MacIndoe family lived at Auchintoshan House.
