Facts and Events
After the arrival of their children, Annie Beaufoy May did no housework. She starched and ironed her lace caps and ironed the pocket handkerchiefs; she also made Irish stew sometimes, but did nothing else. The housework was done by John (Uncle Jack stayed home) in his youth and William (Uncle Beehive) did the cooking. Always had special teas when her sister Emma came - our mum (Ada May) used to cadge tongue and eat it on the way home. (remembered by Pauline Kisky) |
