Born in Mississippi Territory! That is a fact! Taken from Census records Franklin County. CIVIL WAR- 26th Alabama (O`Neals)During the campaign at Gaines Mill the south commanded by Gen. Lee had 95,000 soldiers and 20,614 killed. The North led by Gen. McClellan had 90,000 with 15,849 killed. Andrew enlisted September 5th 1861. He was wounded at Gaines Mill on June 27th 1862 in head and thigh from bomb shell then admitted to Chimbarazo Army Hospital on June 30th. Transferred to CSA Hospital in Danville, Virginia on July 1st and returned to duty on July 25th 1862. Became ill and admitted to Winder Hospital on September 23 1862 and was given a 20 day furlough from there on October 8th 1862. Never returned and listed as a deserted December 1st 1862. Andrew also served with William A. Turner. William claims Andrews sister Dicy in the 1860 census. References
