On 9 May 1750, Andrew Seaver of Cambridge, Middlesex County, yeoman sold land for £13-6s-8p to Jonas Hammond of Worcester, yeoman, for land in a new township granted by the Massachusetts General Court to soldiers, or their heirs, on expedition to Canada in 1690 under Capt. Andrew Gardner of Brookline, deceased. The land included Lot 59 (50 acres) and Lot 54 (100 acres). Elizabeth Seaver, wife of Andrew, agreed to the sale. Andrew and Elizabeth Seaver signed the Deed (Hampden County (Massachusetts) Land Records, Volume 14, Page 229, abstracted from FHL Microfilm 0,845,697, provided by Margaret Jenks). Note that Elizabeth (Boylston) Seaver's mother was a descendant of Andrew Gardner.

"Andrew Seaver, husbandman of Cambridge" died intestate, and his probate records are in Middlesex County, Massachusetts Probate Records, Probate Docket # 20,061 (FHL Microfilm 0,421,514). The probate file includes:

  • Bond for L1000 by Ebenezer Sever, Nathaniel Sparhawk and Edward Jackson, all of Cambridge.
  • Inventory taken by James Sparhawk on 9 July 1771; the Real property was valued at L 1212.17.10 and the personal property was valued at L 98. 4. 4
  • Inventory taken by Abijah Learned, Nath Sparhawk, Thomas Gardner was taken 15 September 1772. The creditors accounts were valued at L133.17.10, and the real property was valued at L702.06.08.
  • Names 3 sons, 7 daughters: eldest son now living Ebenezer, John, Richard, Elizabeth, Jerusha, Sarah, Abigail, Mary, Anna, Hannah.
  • Letter from Ephraim Burrage, husband of Elizabeth Seaver, gives L 32.03 to cover items from father's estate.
