Andrew Paul's Will

To James Andrew Jackson Paul, son of Jean McClung, tract of land I now live on (my own and Jean PaulÕs lot which she willed to me). Also my negro man Isaac who is to be hired out for 4 years; 2 tracts of land in Kentucky, county of Woodford. (Grants contain 1500 acres of which John Paul got 500 Acres by Will of James Paul dec'd., other tract 664 Acres, also 640 Acres in Knox County on north side of Holston River above mouth of Little River, grant in chancery office at Knoxville) 500 Acres in Green County Tennesee on west side of the river below Elk River. (French Broad) 500 Acres on north side of Tennessee River, mouth of Black Creek (Land Office of North Carolina at Raleigh or Tennessee or Alabama Land Offices). Judgement against William Walker for $60.00 of Blount County, Tennessee. Judgement against James Carr of Knox County, Tennessee. To Elizabeth Allbright, Jr. shall have "his" choice of young calves. Stills and vessels and horses and cattle and hogs to be sold and James Andrew Jackson Paul to be put to school as soon as he is capable. My feather beds and furniture (4 in number) and surviving instruments and librea, my mediceal books not to be sold, but to be put in some safe hand until James Andrew Jackson Paul needs them. Stone House to be covered and kept in repair. House I live in floors to be laid and finished on inside and to be weatherboarded. Stone House for Jean McCLung to live in and raise her child and to recieve a reasonable support. House I live in to be rented. Deed for 250 Acres land on Little River in Tennessee. Deed in hands of James Beatley, West Tennessee. Also James Andrew Jackson Paul to have interest in the lot of land claimed by the Negro David Anderson, that I am entitled to 1/7 part of. Should James Andrew Jackosn Paul die with no heirs the above mentioned property to descend to the bodily heirs of Seveania Broadway, daughter of Mary Broadway. Also should he die with no heirs Isaac to be sold after 4 years, if said Isaac is dissatisfied. Robert Rhey, executor 28 February 1831.

CODICIL 21 April 1832 Jean McClung to have my black coe and black heffer, choice of any young cattle, my trunk and chists,, with all the close in them and cubert with household and Kitchen furniture. On condition that she behave herself desently and if to the contrary she must give up all the property to my exor.
