Sarah (Foxhall) Elliott was his 2nd wife, by whom no children. His will was written 30 December 1713 and proved 9 June 1714 (DW 5, Fothergill p. 53).

It names his "daughters in law" Sarah and Elizabeth Elliott and son-in-law William Elliott. His children by his first wife are named as sons Spence Monroe, Andrew Monroe, daughter Susannah Monroe, Elizabeth Arrington.
