Andrew Married Effie Lee Swindle July 18, 1915 at Ingram, Prentiss County, Ms. They moved to Memphis, Tn. during WW I and he had a job laying hardwood flooring. He befriended Clarence Saunders, founder of the Piggly Wiggly Stores, and was asked to lay the floors in the home that later became known as "The Pink Palace". After moving back to Baldwyn, he went to work at the Prather Auto Company (a Ford Dealership) where he remained until retirement. Upon retirement he managed a public housing project in Baldwyn until his death in 1976. He suffered from Parkinson's Disease in his later years. Andrew loved fishing, took flying lessons in the mid 1950's and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. |
