"4. Andrew4 Coe (John3 Andrew2, John1), born in Rye, N. Y., about 1722, when a lad removed into Greenwich, Conn., with his father, and after the latter's death was assessed on a Greenwich rate in 1743, evidently becoming of age in that year. Soon after this he went to Woodbury, Conn., settling in that part of the town later Southbury. In the U. S. Census of 1790 Andrew Coe appears as the head of a family in Southbury, Conn., comprising three males over sixteen years, one male under sixteen years, and one female. During the year 1790 three of his sons removed to that part of Herkimer, N. Y. now called Norway, and it is supposed that later Andrew4 Coe and his wife moved thither and there ended their days. He married at Woodbury, Conn., Sept. 8, 1748, Mary Sanford, bapt. there Mar. 9,1728-9, daughter of Nathaniel and Bethia (Stebbins) Sanford."
