About Andrew

Private Andrew Edmondson Buchanan He is a nephew of Jennett Buchanan Edmondson who was my (Don Bradley) great -great-great- grandmother.

Andrew was a Confederate Soldier. He enlisted in the army the same month and same company as our Great-Great-Grandfather Robert Edmondson (who is buried in Morgan County, Missouri) They were both members of Co F, 37th Virginia Infantry, the Glade Spring Rifles.

Andrew was wounded at the battle of Chancellorsville[1][2] on May 3rd, 1863, in which General Stonewall Jackson was mortally wounded the previous evening, when accidentally shot by his own men. He did not recover enough to continue to be a soldier and was discharged in February 1864. He then took care of the cattle at the Confederate hospital at Emory & Henry College[3] in Washington County.

Andrew is buried in Old Moore Cemetery, Glade Spring Virginia
