Andrew Baum, 88, retired Santa Fe shopman, died Sunday afternoon at his home, 626 Freeman. He was born February 16, 1867 in Bavaria, Germany, and settled in Topeka 69 years ago.
He was a machinist helper at Santa Fe shops for 41 years before he retired, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving are three sons, Nicholas K., John A. and Ralph A. Baum, all of Topeka; a daughter, Mrs. Carl Raab, Topeka; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Rosaries Tuesday at Brennan Funeral Home will be recited by the Daughters of Isabella at 7:15 p.m. and the parish at 7:30 p.m.
