Facts and Events
Son of the Mayor, Andreas Reich, he took over his father's farm from his mother. Andreas was survived by 9 of his 14 children. He had been a judge (member of the City Council) and a caretaker of the saints. Andreas tore down his farmhouse in 1786, and rebuilt it in a different style. In 1874, he had already bought a "house with barn" from Fredrich Schenz. Close to it he owned a cellar with a kitchen for baking which he must have torn down to remodel the house. On May 4, 1812, he sold the farm to his son for 6500 guilden. ID # 515 in the Family Tree. [Chronicle of the Reich Family at Betzweiler - Mayor Jackle, November, 30, 1903] |
