Amy (Stewart) Canterbury obviously named several of her children after her siblings, namely: Aura Canterbury, William Stewart Canterbury, Ralph Stewart Canterbury, Charles Stewart Canterbury, George Stewart Canterbury and Henry Canterbury. This suggests that perhaps Charles Stewart the names ake of her son Charles Stewart Canterbury was her full brother and, therefore, the son of Capt Ralph Stewart and Mary Clay.

Amy Stewart, a daughter of Captain Ralph Stewart and Mary O. Clay, married Rev. John Canterbury 6/21/1820, a son of Samuel and Jane Canterbury. Their known children were: Mary who married Andrew Gunnoe; David married Lucinda Cook, a daughter of William Cook and Catherine Stewart; Rebecca married Elliot Cook; Jane married Josiah Cook; Sarah married William Corder; Aura married Irvin Bailey, son of Isaac Bailey and Juda Cook; Ralph married (1) Sarah _____ and (2) Chloe Ann Cook, a daughter of David Cook and Sarah Bailey; Lucinda married Silas Remley Hedrix; Henry married Julia McCord; William married (1) Ellen Cook, a daughter of David Judson Cook and Sarah Bailey and (2) Florence Cook, of James Cook and Elizabeth Cooper. Charles married Mary A. Wesley; George married (1) Emily Wesley and (2) Emaline Brooks Farley, a daughter of David Brooks and Sarah Osborne;
