MARRIAGE: At St. Mark`s Church, Miss Amy Grace Playne, of Tasman-street, was married to Mr. Edgar Albert Edwards, of Roy-street, the Rev. Fenn officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a handsome dress of cream satin trimmed with lace and pearls, a present from her late employer. She was attended by three bridesmaids, the chief being Miss Elsie Playne, sister of the bride, who wore a dress of shell-pink crepe de chine, and a Juliet cap, and by Miss Irene Little, cousin of the bride, and Miss Beryl Baker,niece of the bridegroom. The bridegroom`s presents to the bridesmaids wore goldbrooches. Mr. G. P. Hanna acted as best man, and Mr. Clarence Playne, brotherof the bride, and Mr. Maynard King were groomsmen. The bride`s mother wore a dress of black and white silk with a grey panne silk hat and a grey boa. A reception was afterwards held at the Wellington Hall, where the young couple received the congratulations of their numerous friends. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards, who left by train later, were the recipients of many presents.
