Disambiguation

Some researchers have mistakenly combined Amos Strode with his brother James Strode on some Ancestry Member Trees as "James Amos Strode", marrying both Jane McClung and Elizabeth Ray. Census and marriage records prove that this is in error and they were two different persons. Amos Strode did marry Jane McClung (daughter of Thomas McClung) in 1811 and Jane lived until at least 1825 when she was listed in a Deed with Amos Stroud. It appears that Amos may have re-married prior to the 1830 Census as his then wife appears to have been several years younger than Jane McClung. Additional research is needed.
