Dea. Amos Parmeter, s/o Amos Parmenter and Mary Berry, b. Framingham, Mass, 1769 [sic, see comment], d. 15 Aug 1865, m. (1) 1798 Tryphena Bannister of Framingham, m. (2) 1821 [sic, 1820 per VRs] Mrs. Hannah Heald of Carlyle, Mass. [sic, Carlisle, Mass.]
[Note: this source seems confused about the age of Amos. According to the Framingham VRs, Amos was baptized in 1773, which corresponds perfectly with the age of 92 on his tombstone. Further, it is unlikely he was born in 1769 because another child in the family was baptized in 1769 suggesting that child was the one born in 1769, and Amos was not, or he would have been baptized at that same time instead of waiting. The author suggests some Framingham records that show an incorrect age, but unless they are cited, it is hard to understand why they would be believed over a combination of a baptism record and an age at death that both argue for 1773.]
