  1. ↑ The birthdate comes from the Find A Grave memorial, which calculates the birth from the age at death on the gravestone. No such record has been located. It is not clear what the basis for the indicated parentage is, since the death location on the memorial differs from the burial ground, presumably in order to force Amos in the same location in a different county where his alleged father is said (no image) to be buried. Francis Jones married in Sterling and lived in Sterling in the 1790 census with one child, so if the parentage is correct, the birth was probably there.
