Facts and Events
Ami was probably born in Otsego, Otsego, New York. He was about 3 years old when the 1800 U.S. census was taken and his father, Hill Richardson, and family were living in Otsego. Hill moved his family to Ellisburg, Jefferson, New York, between 1800 and 1810. By the time the 1810 U.S. census was taken the family was living in Ellisburg. The family was still there in 1820 so Ami spent at least 10 years there and possibly nearly 20 years. Ami moved to Stockton, Chautauqua, New York sometime between 1820 and 1830 when the next U.S. census was taken. His parents and some of his siblings also made the move. Ami and his wife, Charlotte, raised their 7 children on a farm in Stockton. 1840, Ami lived next door to Hill RICHARDSON in Stockton, New York. Between 1850 and 1860 Ami moved to Richland, Wisconsin, with his son, Lyman and stayed with him for a few years. He later moved back to Chautauqua County, New York, and died there. He was probably buried on his farm or one of his children's farms. References
