In 1851 Arthur Farquhar (1813 Kincardineshire, W.S. in practice), mother Barbara (1775 Aberdeen), cousins (b. Perth) Amelia (1834), Agnes (1836), Mary Jane (1838) were at 21 Coates Cres., Edinburgh (census). Barbara was possibly Barbara Fordyce. Arthur Farquhar (15mar1813-13sep1887, unm.) was son of James Farquhar, R.N. surgeon (Society of writers to the Signet).

Masterton (occupation: at home, b. 1861 Inverkeilor), a governess and 3 servants lived at Ferryhill House, Ferryhill Rd., Aberdeen Old Machar (census). In 1891 Robert Lumsden (b.1820, Dysart) retired bank manager, lived at Colinton Rd., Edinburgh, with wife Amelia G. (b. 1835, Craigie, Perthshire), Oswald F. (b.1875 Petercoulter, Aberdeenshire), and Amelia (b.1876, Fordoun, Kincardineshire) (census). 30aug1911 Amelia Grant Lumsden nee Farquhar was at her son Oswald’s wedding (scotlandspeople). Robert died 1898 (family letters). Amelia died 22aug1914 at Stonehaven (oneworldtree).
