Thomas1), … married c. 1679 Ambrose Thompson, son of John Thompson and Mirable Griggs (Stiles' Wethersfield II:762n citing Fairfield Probate Records 35:86), born 1 January 1651 in Stratford, Connecticut (Barbour citing LR 1:48); died there 7 September 1742 in his 92nd year (Barbour citing LR 5:39) and was buried in Stratford Cemetery (Hale 496). … Ambrose Thompson was admitted to church on 26 December 1687 (Stratford First Congregational Church Records, slip index citing 1:R-15). Ambrose Thompson was deputy for Stratford in May 1667, October 1704, May 1705, October 1706, May 1710, May 1712, October 1716, and May 1717 (Col. Rec. 4:197, 482, 498; 5:2, 142, 309, 572; 6:2).
The will of Ambrose Thompson was dated 23 February 1741 and proved 4 October 1742. It states that 'having privately given to my sons by deed of gift' it therefore bequeathes only to daughter Elizabeth Thompson, son Thomas Thompson, and daughter Hannah Thompson, appointing son John Thompson, Capt. David Judson, and Mr. Daniel Hawley as executors (Fairfield Probate District, Connecticut Estate Files, docket no. 6301)."
