Obituary Entry for Amanda Fitzwter.
Mrs. Amanda Fitzwater, beloved wife of William Fitzwater, of Monroe, passed away at her home Friday afternoon at 4:30 at the advanced age of 73 years. The deceased who was one of the oldest residents of Monroe, had been suffering from ill health for the past three years and for the past two years had been unable to leave her bed. Throughout the long illness the character of the suffer was shown by a disposition to always look on the bright side of things, in spite of the conditions and none were more cheerful. Her death brings sorrow into many homes as she was beloved by all who knew her. Mrs. Fitzwater is survived by five children, Nathan of this city, Herbert of Oregonia, Frank, of Monroe, Mrs. John Fogarty, and Mrs. Charles Rhodes, of Monroe. In addition to these, there are twenty-four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and to all the deepest sympathy of the many friends is extended during the hour of the bereavement. The funeral services will be held from the United Presbyterian Church at Monroe at 2 O'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. Livingstone, officiating. Interment will be made in Monroe cemetery.
