BURLINGTON — Mrs.. Alzora Allen Russell, 97, of 2942 Amherst Ave., died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at her home. She was formerly of Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road. A native of Snow Camp, she was the wife of the late Mr. Lawrence S. Russell and the daughter of Mr. John Allen and Mrs.. Caroline Stuart Allen, both deceased. She was a retired teacher from the Alamance County School System and was a former member of the Shamrock Garden Club. She was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 45 years and organized and was the first president of the Church United Methodist Women. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs.. A.B. (Johnnie Russell) Blair Jr.. of Williamsburg, Va., Mrs.. John M. (Alyece Russell) Fletcher of Elon College, Mrs.. Clayton (Katie Russell) Ingle of Burlington and Mrs.. Marvin E. (Agnes) Yount of the home; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bellemont United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jeff Roberts and the Rev. Al Trotter. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening, and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Bellemont United Methodist Church Building Fund, 4039 Markwood Drive, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
