Alvin W. Corn was the son of George Corn (1758-1837) and his first wife, Judith. Geo-1758 was the son of 'Old' George Corn (circa 1728-1801) who died in Mercer Co., KY. Geo-1758 was known for 'taking a bullet to the jaw' in the Battle of Blue Licks on 19 Aug 1792. Ten months after Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown, the Kentucky Militia was still defending attacks from Indian campaigns organized and assisted by Loyalist troops. Despite his injuries, which were severe, George went on to have a large family, including Alvin W. Corn, who died at age 21, unmarried.
