Research by Paula Mellor:
Lolita A. Guthrie, Family Stories & Bible Records of Central West Virginia Extracts from Clarksburg Exponent Telegram Oct. 1932 - Feb. 1933 Vol. 2, (Hacker's Creek Pioneer Descendants), Pg. 62 Quote:
" Alvin D. Bassel first married Miss Minnie Squires, a daughter of Daniel Stephen and Elizabeth McLaughlin Squires of Sutton. They were the parents of a daughter Margaret, who became the wife of Harvey Weekley. She and her husband and their two children live at Canton, O. After the death of Mrs. Bassel, her husband remarried Mrs. Mollie V. Post, who parents, Weekley's, lived at Buckhannon. Mr. Bassel and Mrs. Bassel live at the old homestead in Lost Creek" Unquote

So Alvin Bassel and Mollie were living on Edward Jackson's old farm sometime after 1900!!! Perhaps Alvin lived there earlier than that but further research is needed to determine that.
