[edit] Sources[edit] NotesIt seems alot of personal trees place Alvah as being born in Little York, Wabash County, Illinois. I cannot find a source for this information. The first census Alvah was in was the 1870 census, at that point the family was in Henderson County, Illinois. And given by the next census in 1880, he was living in Jefferson, Louisa County, Iowa with his sister's family. It would be more likely that he was born in a county that is on the Iowa / Illinois border rather than the other side of the state in Wabash County. Marriage record for Alvah and Amanda York, every detail correlates except the father, it is indexed as Geo. Unless this is a nickname for Joshua Hadley York, I'm not sure where this came from. I looked into other family members with the name George who could be a father figure in Alvah's family. The only person I found was 1 after Alvah's time and then his Nephew, who was about the same age. So no luck there. RIN: MH:N866 PRIN: MH:I221 References
