Mrs. Alva V. "G.G." Kern, 75, of 27 Willow Ave., Slatington, died Saturday in Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center. She was the widow of Ervin C. Kern. She was a knitter for Fairtex Knitting Mills, Allentown, for 21 years before retiring in 1976. Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Maude (Yenser) Rohlfing. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Slatington. Surviving are a son, Richard E. of Slatington; a daughter Paulette, wife of Paul Samuels of Slatington; a brother Clark of Lansford; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Lohenitz of Tamaqua and Ruth, wife of Edward Blose of Schnecksville, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington. A calling hour will precede the services.
