Mr. Alton Denton Graves BURLINGTON - Mr. Alton Denton Graves, 89, 3446 Beaver Creek Road, died at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002 at Edgewood Place.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Ura Denton Graves Sr. and the late Flossie Shoffner Graves. He was retired from Kayser-Roth in research and development, and was a lifetime member of Low's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Battle of Alamance Re-enactment Group.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs.. Elaine Graves Mann of Burlington; three brothers, Mr. Marvin Wood Graves of Haw River, Mr. Earl. C. Graves of Burlington, and Mr. Fred B. Graves of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs.. Ione G. Nuckols and Mrs.. Rosa Lee G. Cole; and two brothers, Mr. Elmer R. Graves and Mr. U.D. Graves Jr..

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Low's Evangelical Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brian Ballard. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington.
