Notes from Friend family historian LaVerne Mast Fullmer: A. W. (as he was called) was in the boot and shoe business, and aslo ordered suits made to measure. Later he enlarged his store to inclue a general dry goods store and a grocery department. He sang in the Methodist choir and was a member of the Pleasantville Band, playing the tuba. 

LaVerne worked in A. W.'s store in Pleasantville before she went into nursing.
