Obituary- believed from: "Lyons Mirror", Lyons, Burt Co., Nebraska, October 13, 1921.p.8, Col.2: HIS LAST ROLL CALL - A. H. Beemer, once active Grand Army Veteran passes away to his eternal home. Once more the rapidly thinning ranks of the G. A. R. has been broken. A. H. Beemer died at his home in Lincoln, October 7, 1921, age 82 years, leaving three sons, George H. Beemer of this place and O. D. and W. S. Beemer of Lincoln, one duaghter, Mrs. Eva J. Babbitt died some years ago. There are also 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, August 29, 1839, moved with his parents to Illinois, when he was eight years old. He was married to Margaret Randolph in 1859 in Paw Paw, Illinois... Alpheus Beemer served in Co. I, 156th Illinois Infantry.
