Mrs. Alma “Lavay” McLemore, 72, of Madisonville, KY passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 8:15 A.M. at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.

She was born December 1, 1936 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Albert Pleasant and Grace Sneed Pleasant. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Alan McLemore and one sister, Donnie McGregor.

Mrs. McLemore attended Gilland Ridge General Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Wayne McLemore of Madisonville; one daughter, Joanna Holzhauser of Earlington, KY; one son, Johnny (Margie) Wayne McLemore of Nortonville, KY; two brothers, Marlin Pleasant of Nortonville and Harlan Pleasant of Bristo, OK; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 2, 2009, at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. J.W. Haire officiating. Burial will follow in Gilland Ridge Cemetery in St. Charles, KY.

Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Monday from noon until the service time.
