A native of Alamance County, he was the son of CLAUDE and Beulah Crouse SHOFFNER, who survive of Alamance, and was the husband of Mrs.. Betty Thompson SHOFFNER. who survives. He was a partner of SHOFFNER Knitting Mills, was former owner of Boston laundry and Clearners. former vice president, secretary and treasurer of S.S. Hosiery Mills, and was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his daughters. Mrs.. Claudia Kllis, Graham, Miss Susan Lynn SHOFFNER of the home; sisters, Mrs.. W.T. Stokes III, Burlington, Mrs.. Edward Hurdle, Alamance; brother, Jack SHOFFNER, Graham. Final rites will be 4 p.m. Friday at Alamance Lutheran Church. The Rev. Boyce Whitener, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina.
